Everything captured and edited this week. I was extremely surprised that MDK in Zgorzelec that was empty last year. I wanted to contact local bands, managers of rehearsal venues and I was casting my wishes and spells to the void. What a surprise to encounter all of you on one stage this autumn. This is one of reasons I decided to make this movie. Another was to emphasize some beautiful and haunted aspects of your urban space but also surrounding places that altogether pose mysterious puzzles to me. To my own reflections and searches for my own sense of belonging, attributing myself some identity parts. Zgorzelec is always good mooring point for me. To set off to other places from. To discover. And this time I discovered local bands but this is not what this film is about. This film has more abstract message. About being local. About advantages and uniqueness of being local to some places in this world.

After 19 years I decided to travel to the town in England when I participated in English language course for the first time abroad. The village, the access to this place, roads, gas lanterns, architecture, secrets, nature and especially my memories is what I tried to depict in this movie. But it looks the best in Full HD. I recorded it redundantly in 4K resolution. But even 3 times better quality than of this instance you can see is enough to capture many details. Please enjoy my journey to my very sentimental past. I did not have a girlfriend there that time. But I befriended Ania from Warsaw. We were sitting down the hill of Abbey College at the very end of yard of whole area of the school. Near swimming pool. And were hugging and talking. There wasn’t intense chemistry between us maybe but being so isolated with hills, not easily accessed town of Malvern Wells, we were knowing each other better by personal discoveries about each other. But I enjoyed also students from different countries. This time when I stayed to London I befriended the musician from Argenitina who wants to come to my studio before leaving Europe. I hope he will decide to see my studio, maybe record something and use my technical expertise. He is also a filmmaker. I wasn’t this far when I was in England in 2000. But in 2003 and 2004 I was traveling to England to learn language knowing that I am the sound engineer with my own studio. 3-4 years only was a very big leap in my own development then. I hope that this video, without comment but with extremely pleasant aesthetics can be the key to my metamorphosis of my personality from awkward boy from little Polish town to self-discovering, courageous, open-minded explorer of new fields of knowledge, new opportunities, landscapes, places, friend, local bands and many other influences of architectures, details, things from everyday life I found different in England and especially nature. That always inspired me and made more subtle. Today I live in similar place like Malvern. For ca. 5 years! I was feeling many times in my life that such appealing nature was calling me to settle besides.
